The following are the advantages of the Fulbright Joint Supervision Scholarship 2023 in the United States:
- A monthly stipend for a total of 12 months while attending the American institution, which may be divided into two periods if necessary. The funding for Joint Supervision covers one or two round journeys from Morocco to the American host university.
- Reasonable charges at the American host university, subject to approval by MACECE and the U.S. co-supervisor;
- A $1,000 allowance for the acquisition of books and materials;
- A $1,000 allowance for the purchase or leasing of relevant academic equipment;
- Medical insurance for the grantee’s stay in the United States.
- MACECE additionally pays for the American co-supervisor’s round-trip ticket and per diem to attend the Moroccan student’s Ph.D. thesis defense and to spend up to one week in Morocco interacting with Moroccan colleagues and universities.

Application Requirements:
- Applications that do not include pledges and authorization from both Moroccan and American professors will be rejected.
- Applications must contain a dissertation proposal review by both the Moroccan director of thèse and the American co-supervisor.
- Candidates must have a minimum TOEFL score of 477 for the paper-based test or a minimum IBT score of 53. Humanities candidates must have a minimum of 500 / 61. This prerequisite is waived for applicants with a B.A. in English Studies.
- Applications must include a reduced thesis proposal that is customized expressly for this application and addresses the following points:
- In the first few lines of the revised thesis proposal, the hypothesis and overriding goal of the dissertation must be conveyed clearly in plain English.
- how the dissertation topic and research are situated in the context of current field research in Morocco and globally;
- The Selection Committee places a high value on how the proposal relates to Morocco’s national development needs.
