(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary: Postdoctoral Researcher in Single Molecule Microscopy and Immunology

The Lillemeier Lab is looking for a highly creative, collaborative, and driven postdoctoral researcher who is interested in employing single-molecule microscopy to visualize immunological responses in T cells. Our lab is interested in how lymphocyte activity and functions are regulated during cancer and autoimmunity. The activating T cell receptor (TCR) and inhibitory PD1 pathways in T cells are the subject of the current study. To understand how protein conformations, changes, and assembly at the plasma membrane regulate signal transmission, we employ interdisciplinary techniques that integrate cutting-edge fluorescence microscopy with biophysics, biochemistry, and molecular biology. We observed that T cell signaling pathways are divided into different plasma membrane nanodomains (also known as protein islands) that concatenate during T cell activation.

We’re looking at how signaling pathways use nanodomain distributions and dynamics, as well as how signals are shared between them. We want to find and change spatiotemporal processes that are unique to signaling proteins and/or pathways. To control anti-tumor responses and autoimmunity, newly discovered pathways are characterized and targeted in situ and in vivo, including in mice. Our objective is to identify the potential of these systems as future immunotherapy medication targets. There are now several research underway to investigate the spatiotemporal signaling processes that govern the assembly and signal transduction of the TCR and PD1 pathways at the plasma membrane, as well as their interaction and communication with other T-cell signaling pathways.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023

Postdoc summary/title: Two postdoctoral positions are available for the electrical and optical analysis of nanopores for protein sequencing using single-molecule tools (m/f/d).

Biological and solid-state nanopores are becoming more important in molecular diagnostics. The purpose of this study is to validate their usage in identifying peptides and their post-translational changes identified in a range of clinical states such as cancer, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and infectious disorders. The simultaneous observation of an electrical current passing through a single nanopore and an optical signal from a dye molecule within the pore will offer information about the peptide trapped in the pore.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowships:

Postdoc Fellowship title: Post-doctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in Structural Biology and Design of Protein Nanopores

NanodiagBW is a research cooperation involving academic and industrial partners that exploits nanopore technology for molecular diagnostics. We use protein nanopores to read epigenetic markers at high throughput and on a wide scale for the development of miniaturized analytical systems, and we combine the resulting data into a comprehensive picture of individual disease states. The current research will concentrate on the synthesis, characterization, and engineering of protein nanopores, as well as their embedding in membrane settings and functional testing employing cutting-edge electrophysiology.

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position 2023:

Postdoc Fellowship Position title: Post-doctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in Structural Biology and Molecular Modelling

The Collaborative Research Centre 1381 “Dynamic Organisation of Cellular Protein Machineries” studies the assembly, function, and dynamic interaction of the molecular machinery that keeps our cells running. We combine structural biology (X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM) in this study to unravel the structure and function of dynamic multi-component protein complexes necessary for critical tasks in metabolism, signaling, repair, and replication. The CRC’s second funding phase is dedicated to developing models and in-silico representations of cellular machines that can be incorporated into efficient simulations of complex systems.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship title: Postdoc (m/f/d) in Molecular Biology for the Development of new Assay Technologies

You investigate innovative assay technologies to address present constraints in molecular diagnostics and DNA analysis as a member of our Nucleic Acid Analysis Group. The group specializes in PCR, digital, and isothermal amplification, and it is expanding its activity in next-generation sequencing. We hope to improve performance and offer value for patients and users by developing and integrating innovative test formats. Our programs are distinguished by multidisciplinary collaboration with academic, clinical, and industry partners, with the objective of achieving rapid technological transfer. Examples of applications include antibiotic-resistant bacteria identification, personalized medication monitoring in cancer, and liquid biopsies based on circulating tumor DNA.
