Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc (researcher) in Mass Spectrometry for Laboratory Automation
The King Group is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to assist in the development and operation of a mass spectrometry laboratory unit for Genesis, the robot scientist. Genesis is being designed as an automated laboratory with gear capable of supporting 10,000 parallel microchemostat cultivations. Genesis sample analysis units include mass spectrometry, untargeted metabolomics, and transcriptome profiling sequencing. A liquid handling robot, an Agilent RapidFire Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) device, and an Agilent 6560 ion mobility quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer comprise the metabolomics unit. The Genesis program is being developed to control the laboratory setup, pick the best experiment, and analyze data for yeast model improvement.

The newly funded FORMAS project intends to solve these difficulties in the lab and on a pilot scale by providing novel solutions.
